Arlin Nusbaum, MS
Arlin Nusbaum is an author and a reformer, who has set forth a standard to which the true followers of the Book of Mormon can come. He is on a mission to educate the world about what the Book of Mormon does and does not teach. He describes himself as "Defender of the Book of Mormon from 'Believers' and Non-Believers."
He was raised in the LDS church in a family of twelve, and is a seventh generation Mormon. While away at college he experienced the power which the Book of Mormon has to convict its readers and bring them to Christ. During his mission he saw others experience the same thing.
Only later did he and his wife Tammy
Tammy Nusbaum discover that the church which they loved, cherished and served was not compatible with the teachings in the Book of Mormon (particularly the baptizing of children).
The differences between the Book of Mormon and the Mormon church took years to research. The results of that effort are the web sites on the right. They and their children have fellowshipped with Presbyterian, Evangelical Covenant Church, Churches of Christ, and Community of Christ congregations.
They found a tendency among the followers of Joseph Smith, whether they were LDS, RLDS, FLDS, Bickertonite (or other Restoration groups), to reject the Book of Mormon once they came to know the fallible side of Joseph. They feel this should not be.
The Nusbaums believe God purposely chose Joseph because of his tendency to be swayed by men, which fallibleness should prevent Book of Mormon believers from trusting Joseph more than God.
"Every man and woman who ever testified of the truthfulness of that book will be judged by what they did with it." -Arlin
