David White Rogers

Patriarch - David White Rogers (October 4, 1787 - September 1881) David White Rogers was the first Mormon convert on Arlin's paternal grandmother's side. David Rogers was a New York City resident in 1837 when taught by Parley P. Pratt and Elijah Fordham. (Autobiography of Parley P. Pratt, pp. 186, 245)

Featured throughout early Mormon Church history, David was Patriarch in Provo and President of the 34th Quorum of the Seventy; a descendant of John Rogers, the first martyr under Bloody Queen Mary (BYU Studies, 35 no. 2, 1995, pp. 73-90), and a descendant of Prince Henry St. Clair by his mother Hannah Sinclair.

His wife Martha Collins was also a descendant of the protomartyr John Rogers.

Henri de St. Clair took part in the first crusade and saw Jerusalem fall in 1096.

Prince Henry Sinclair discovered America in 1398 and dedicated it to the Lord in fulfillment of Book of Mormon prophecy. (1 Nephi 13:12)

Earl William Sinclair built Rosslyn Chapel in 1446.

Major General Arthur St. Clair, cousen to Hannah Sinclair, served under George Washington and was the brainchild of the plan that defeated the British at Trenton and Princeton. He was elected 9th President of the United States in Congress Assembled, 1787, under which the U. S. Constitution was passed and the Northwest Territory "reclaimed" (of which he was its first governor).

Henry Nusbaum, son of Abraham, was born November 5, 1776 in Maryland and was blessed with seven sons (John, David, Abraham, Henry, Jacob, Isaac, Joseph) and three daughters (Catherine, Sarah, Rebecca), just as Arlin's mother had seven sons and three daughters.

 

Nicholas Ewald came to America in 1857.
